An evening at Straits Quay, Penang, Malaysia

Located at Seri Tanjung Pinang, Georgetown, Penang. Little known about this shopping mall situated by the seaside. We are intrigued to explore more as we saw many tourist came for a stroll compared to locals. What may have interested them to visit when even to the locals this mall is unheard-of.

Once we entered, we were greeted by the breeze from the sea. Again we are confused as we saw small marina catered small recreational boat and yacht. The mall is designed as a small harbor and that’s what makes it special.

I love this photo

After taking enough photos, we head into the mall, touring the shops available. Despite the good location, the mall still have empty shoplots but there are still many retails and eateries choice such as Starbucks, Crab & Lobsters, Sam Groceries, Winter Warmers, Paparich, Dome Café and lots more, for full shop listing refer Straits Quay shop directory.

Since we haven’t have our dinner we chose  to dine Paparich. Our first visit to Paparich anyway. Thinking paparich is serving western cuisine, we were surprised flipping over the menu when they actually serving local food. Ranging from Malay, Chinese and Indian food.

We have Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken, Sangakaya (steam bun with kaya jam) , and claypot chicken poridge with egg. The portion is large and enough to feed us, eating monster!
